2014 Amundsen Expedition

ArcticNet, NETCARE, JAMSTEC/NIPR 2014

On 8 July 2014 the CCGS Amundsen left Quebec City for a 96-day journey to the Canadian Arctic in support of ArcticNet's marine-based research program, the ArcticNet-BREA program, NETCARE (Network on Climate and Aerosols) and a collaboration with researchers from the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) and the National Institute of Polar Research (NIPR).

  • Nunavut Research Institute Scientific Research License # 05 012 14R-M;
  • Department of Fisheries and Oceans license to fish for scientific purposes in the waters of Nunavut # S-14/15-1017-NU;
  • Nunavut Archaeologist Permit # 2014-30A (for Schools on Board visit to Beechey Island)

Northwest Territories

  • Aurora Research Institute Northwest Territories Scientific Research License # 12 404 822;
  • Department of Fisheries and Oceans license to fish for scientific purposes in the waters of the Northwest Territories # S-14/15-1017-NU;

Foreign Waters
