(Biography) I am currently in the first year of my Ph.D degree under the supervision of Dr. John Yackel at the University of Calgary. My research interests include the resolution of ambiguities associated with the satellite remote sensing of Arctic sea ice conditions during the summer melt season. My Alberta Ingenuity Fund (AIF) Doctoral research objectives focus on spatio-temporal issues surrounding satellite and in situ based microwave remote sensing of Arctic summer sea ice - as melting ice and melt ponds are sources of confusion that inhibit the effective extraction of climatological and operational sea ice parameters from spaceborne radar data.
