(Biography) I obtained my PhD in hydrobiology from University of Helsinki, Finland in 2001 and did my postdoctoral studies in Laval University, Quebec. Since 2004 I have worked as a research associate with Prof. Warwick Vincent, including the coordination of ArcticNet theme 2. My research interests include the distribution of zooplankton in northern lakes and ponds, the response of zooplankton to ultraviolet radiation, and the benthic-pelagic coupling in shallow subarctic and arctic ponds. I have worked on these subjects in Northern Scandinavia, subarctic and arctic Canada, and Alaska.
