(Biography) MARTIN-HUGUES ST-LAURENT is an associate professor at the Université du Québec à Rimouski, where he teaches and conducts research in animal ecology, wildlife management and conservation. He holds a PhD in biology (UQÀM); his PhD dissertation focused on responses of birds and mammals to the loss and fragmentation of mature boreal forest. His current research program focuses on the impacts of habitat alteration on mammal conservation, using tools as behavior, physiology, population dynamics, trophic interactions, landscape ecology and modelling, and focusing on woodland caribou, gray wolf, black bear, coyote, moose and white-tailed deer as biological models.
