Ryan Galley
Research Assistant Professor
University of Manitoba

(Biography) I am a Research Assistant Professor in Geological Sciences, working within the Centre for Earth Observation Science and the Canadian Excellence Research Chair unit at University of Manitoba. My research is focused on the evolution of brine in sea ice both temporally and spatially in the context of the physical controls on its presence and movement. I hold a Ph.D. from the Department of Environment and Geography at the University of Manitoba and a B.Sc. (Major with distinction) in Environmental Science (toxicology) from the University of Manitoba. My Ph.D. research was focused on the measurement and temporal evolution of sea ice volumes at local to regional scales, and the thermodynamic and dynamic processes which create, maintain and change them. I still maintain some of that work in collaboration with students and colleagues in Canada and abroad.
